Getting Kicked off the Test
They should not get kicked off the test because they are a slower reader (there should be no time limit). I was informed they give them plenty of time before they kick them off. Whatever that limit is, it is not enough. I watched two students scrolling through and reading it and both got kicked off. It is not enough time. There should be no time limit at all. If there is, then it is a timed test. I was told MAP is not a timed test.

I had SEVERAL students kicked out of the test. Why? Because the questions are difficult and their reading levels are high, but they are meticulous in answering. Many of my students got kicked off multiple times, and they are my committed readers. We are at a small school, and our elementary teachers were complaining about the tests being suspended for several of their students, as well. If a student is scrolling or actively engaging with a test, they should NOT be kicked out of the session. The test is not based on time. That should be exhibited in the test itself (and not merely a verbal selling point).
