  1. We are teaching them that a number and a letter right next to each other means multiplication. For example, image.png, and they have to solve for X. But they way they are writing on MAP is
image.png image.png, meaning times X. It is very confusing to the kids because they already know it's multiplication and we no longer use the X for multiplication because it is a variable. Is there a place for administrators to make suggestions for improvements to the MAP/NWEA testing?? For our kids, it's ilke there is an extra "X" in the problem. (From MS Math teachers)

  3. When setting up a test session, TTS should be automatically assigned to those students who have it as an identified need on an IEP, 504 or ELL plan. TTS should be connected to a student account and not a Test Session.

  5. The format for Kindergarten MAP can be challenging for early learners' attention span, directions need to be clear and consistent by the program. There are way too many buttons to be pressing in all sorts of order, that the students do not understand. Simplify to get better results and true data.

  6. When ending a test session, please make the Save and Exit button and Delete Session button different colors!! They are the same color and size and it's only a matter of time before someone deletes a session by accident.

  7. Our students did a writing workshop that taught them how to highlight different information using different colors. Example...Setting (yellow), time (blue), action (green), reaction (red), etc. On the STAR test, they do allow different colors for the highlighter. It would be nice if all things were aligned for the students sake.

  8. When students complete testing, they are shown a screen that describes their subscores as "goal scores" and the range as "goal range"-- if this is shared with parents, they assume this means that the student's score should be in the "goal range" when it's just showing how consistently the student answered in the subtopic area.

  9. We purchased the assessment to use K-12 and were promised secondary course-specific assessments in Spanish, and now that we are giving the assessment, the Spanish does not exist. How do we provide the assessment to our Spanish language students? Or students who speak other languages? This is inequitable!

  10. Create a new tile for "Manage Testing Sessions" for all users. This particular tile is beneficial to all users and it will be an easy access for "newbies" having trouble finding the "Manage Testing Sessions" to create, edit, and find saved testing sessions.

  11. When students time out, their names are no longer in the class list to log back in. The proctor must suspend them and then set them to "test again" after which they have to reboot and then log in again. THIS IS a software bug. The work around I have described is "solving" something that the developers should fix. Student names can be repopulated if the software is changed. Every teacher in every school encounters this problem and has for the past 17 years I have administered this test.

  13. We would love to see NWEA MAP create a true progress monitoring tool that can be used between the benchmark testing windows. A shorter assessment that will report RIT, PR, and ROI - all within the same platform - would be outstanding. This would support additional data gathering for students receiving supports: MTSS/RTI, IEP, and EL.

  14. Some students are taking an incredibly long time on the Reading Growth test. They are carefully reading all the questions, getting them right, and then getting an even longer passage. They are taking up to 3 hours to finish the test. We can't test them for that long, but we also don't want them to just lose all their hard work if we stop before they get a score. Can you PLEASE offer the option at admin discretion to just get an estimated score after a certain amount of time spent on the test???

  15. Admin accounts should be able to join a testing session currently in progress in order to help remotely troubleshoot an issue a teacher is having or view the session's password and Proctor PIN.

  16. Campus or district staff needs to be able to upload a file for accommodations to verify that the correct accommodations are given to the students. If this cannot happen, admin needs to be able to verify what accommodations are assigned by proctors before testing. Currently, we cannot see that information until the student has already tested. Then, it is too late to correct without retesting students.

  18. Is there a way we can prevent the students from finishing very quickly? Rapid guessing doesn't come up for some kids because that is within the "assumed time," etc. However, a majority of the kids are taking a 42-47 question math test in less than 30 minutes. A lot of kids who are below average know way more than their placement. Or ask them more "current grade level" questions on top of the past standards to help improve their score. Thank you!!

  19. I believe it completely negates the validity of the math MAP test when students at grades 3+ are responsible for reading the math test. As a third grade teacher, I have plenty of students in my class who unfortunately score very low on the math MAP test due to poor reading skills. If we are testing their mathematical ability, we should not be requiring them to read.

Further, this renders their reports virtually useless because I do not know what was missed due to a mathematical misunderstanding or what was answered incorrectly simply because the child did not know how…

  20. Is it possible to have a file upload option? We're not able to use homeroom rosters or class periods in MAP, but if I could upload a file with class rosters we created that would be awesome.
