  9. Take out field test every benchmark. Time is valuable in the classroom. Randomly assign a small group or test it in a different way.

  10. There is a delay from when a child selects an answer to when the screen moves to the next item. Students interpret that delay as "I need to click again." and they are being advanced through one or more items because of their repeat clicking.

  11. You need to add a submit button after each question. Many. many times my students accidentally click on the wrong answer because they were using their mouse to read each answer. This happens on all of the tests.

  13. There is a reading question with pictures and the student is to match a sentence below with each picture. The box above each picture is so small, students had difficulty placing the sentence. I even had trouble. Make the boxes bigger please.

  14. Just received our winter screener results. Every single student who is "flagged" is an ELL student who would only be able to identify the pictures in the phonological awareness and phonics sections if they clicked the speaker button to have each picture read to them. There are two huge problems with this: 1--As kindergarteners, clicking every speaker button on every page requires more persistence than is developmentally typical and 2--This section is scored by the number of questions a student answers correctly in a given time limit.   17. It would be nice to have the progress monitoring passages as hard copies so student would read off of the paper versus reading off of a screen.

  18. This instrument over-identified our ELL students because on multiple portions of the assessment they had to click every picture to find out what it was before selecting their answer. Our non-ELL students could rapidly identify the pictures and therefore selected more correct answers within the time limit. One way this language bias could be reduced would be to extend the time limit a bit and have every user listen to the computer identifying all the pictures. Without an alteration such as this, MAP Reading Fluency has limited usefulness with ELL students.

  19. Testing.

    It will say the number of questions. It says the name of the test at the top to make sure that kids are in the correct test. Having a button that the kids push to go to the next question. If they accidentally click an answer they can't go back on it.

  20. The section on the dyslexia screener where students have to pick the two pictures that begin with the same sound, does not allow students to change their original selection. I had a kiddo today taking the assessment and he realized the first picture he chose was incorrect. We could not click or drag it back so we could make a new selection. It would be nice if students could finalize their choice or change it when they realize they made a mistake.
