Provide progress monitoring oral reading passages as hard text copies.
It would be nice to have the progress monitoring passages as hard copies so student would read off of the paper versus reading off of a screen.

How to reduce language bias
This instrument over-identified our ELL students because on multiple portions of the assessment they had to click every picture to find out what it was before selecting their answer. Our non-ELL students could rapidly identify the pictures and therefore selected more correct answers within the time limit. One way this language bias could be reduced would be to extend the time limit a bit and have every user listen to the computer identifying all the pictures. Without an alteration such as this, MAP Reading Fluency has limited usefulness with ELL students.

Change answer
The section on the dyslexia screener where students have to pick the two pictures that begin with the same sound, does not allow students to change their original selection. I had a kiddo today taking the assessment and he realized the first picture he chose was incorrect. We could not click or drag it back so we could make a new selection. It would be nice if students could finalize their choice or change it when they realize they made a mistake.

Can you please add a line guide to the Oral Reading Passages?

Timed recording
Sometimes students are pausing during the reading....to fix headphones, coughing, etc and it is throwing their time off. I wish there was a button when hand scoring to pause their time. A few seconds doesn't tend to make a big difference, but sometimes it ends up being about 30 seconds and then flagging the student.

Taking one subtest Over
Under MAP Reading Fluency, students should be able to redo one of the sections instead of having to take the whole test again. We have students that are a no score on RAN, and we just need that part assessed again, not the whole test.

Progress bar or percent for teacher to see during testing.
Testing progress bar (or percentage) to show how much of the test the student has completed vs how much left to complete. This would be nice for the teacher to see while testing.

Pause student test from the proctor page.
Provide an option for the proctor to pause a student test.

Timed recording
I think when reading passages, students should NOT be able to click the done button until there is at least 60 seconds of a recording.

More Term Information (Include Term Dates)
It would be nice for the site to note when the term start/end dates are in the term section, so teachers can be sure to not start the testing for students prior to the next term starting, or the previous term ending, depending upon the testing needs.

Spanish MAP Fluency
Spanish MAP Fluency would be helpful in assessing students in dual language classes. In our district many of our schools offer dual language. Our state dyslexia screener must be offered in Spanish and English. It would be great to be able to offer MAP Fluency as the screener.

Oral Reading Fluency
Please take the green done button off of the Oral Reading Fluency passages for the first minute. This will encourage students to read for at least a minute so their score can count.

Correct Order of Assessing
Do not allow the Reading Benchmark Assessment accessible (keep it locked) UNTIL the student has been given the Dyslexia Screener.
WHY?
Because school districts are not doing it this way and as a teacher, I have to follow their rules. The data is skewed because they are seeing the same questions twice.
IF YOU LOCK the reading screener until the Dyslexia is given, then districts can't mess it up. You guys are the experts and know how it should work.
Also, in OHIO --- any kid that is red then has to have a reading improvement plan written. That would…1 vote -
Reading Oral Passages
Would be great if teachers could score oral reading passages as students read to the teachers rather than recording the audio and having to hand score. This would prevent frustration and having to reassess students multiple times.

Login Glitches
Help! My students have not been able to log in to complete their progress monitoring today. At first the website would not load at all and a few hours later, it seemed to be loading; however, no passwords were working even after they were refreshed. Thanks so much for any help you can provide. :-)

Green Finish Button
Students taking Passages Only are allowed to push the green button during the reading of the passage whenever they want to. At least a minute of reading is required to hand score a passage. It would be helpful if the button couldn't be pushed until after that minute is up. That would give us a better chance of having enough recorded to hand score. Students are pushing it very quickly and recording nothing at all. These students are being monitored but there is no way to do 1-on-1 testing to ensure this doesn't happen.

Pause Button
Is there an option to have a pause button that could be chosen during the test, to ensure that the test saves? I had students stop mid-testing and when they logged back in, it started them over. A pause button could save progress and ensure the student doesn't lose their work.
