  1. I was just informed that the norms were updated this summer. However, the student report page has changed all previous windows to reflect the new norms. THIS IS NOT ACCURATE OR CORRECT. The percentiles are no longer accurate and the graph CANNOT be used to interpret the data. For example, a 157 for 1st grade for spring of 2025 was in the 15th percentile when the test was given. Now, it shows that the percentile is the 24th percentile. This makes the score within the average range while the 15th percentile is outside of it. This is a very large…

  3. Please make the MAP Growth in the browser have a different background from the app. It will be easier for the proctors to check.

  4. There needs to be a faster way to assign multiple teachers to the same class. There should be an option within the class to check and assign teachers to that class without doing it term by term, teacher by teacher, one at a time. This is tedious and time-consuming.

  6. I can no longer see the NPR on the Student Profile Report. Previously, on this report, when you would click on an historical test on the graph, you could see the NPR information for that test. I see with an online search that “NWEA has refined its reporting over time to emphasize specific metrics that they believe are most helpful for informing instruction. By moving the percentile rank, they have shifted the focus of the student profile report to a growth-oriented view, rather than a normative comparison.” As a Coordinator of Gifted Services in Ohio, I can only identify a…

  7. When getting kicked out of the test, and seeing an "error" message, or issue with the testing site. It would be nice to have a "report an issue" button that we can click. The status page takes a while to get updated and instead of having to sit on chat for over an hour just to say "hey, there's an issue. Did you know?" We could do something to make sure you knew - like click a button. Teachers are people of action - waiting around without any info about why we can't test, is very stressful. Especially when we…

  9. It would be nice for our intervention teachers to have an option to progress monitor students on individualized learning plans to ensure students are making adequate progress towards their goals. This may be an option through additional paid platforms, but we only have access to MAPS Growth for the time being.

  10. For the K-2 measurement and data questions, we've noticed so many questions geared towards entering the times for a digital clock, and very few questions around measuring length or reading a graph. The digital clock questions also are tricky formatting wise (for example, if the time is four thirty, students need to know to put the 4 immediately to the left of the colon and not in the first blank space). I think it would be a more accurate reflection of measurement and data abilities to include more measuring length and reading data questions in this section of the test…

  11. MAP Growth science assessments provide a valuable overview of student performance in Life Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science. However, as our high school chemistry curriculum becomes increasingly rigorous and specialized, we believe that a Chemistry-focused MAP test would offer more targeted insights into student understanding, readiness, and growth in this subject area.

    A Chemistry-specific assessment could help:

-Provide data directly aligned with high school chemistry standards and learning objectives.
-Identify gaps in prerequisite knowledge that may affect student success in advanced science courses.
-Support teachers with precise instructional planning and interventions tailored to chemistry content.

  12. Currently a student's testing accommodations have to be entered for each testing session. Accommodations also have to be re-entered within the same testing session if the student is assigned one test, (say the reading test), finishes the test, and then is assigned a different test (the Math test). We have so many students with accommodations in our system that it is easy to miss assigning their accommodations because we have to do and redo it so many times.

The desired system would allow an admin or SpEd staff (or anyone) to go into the system and assign accommodations directly to…

  13. There should be a way to delete unused sessions easily. Once a session is not in use for at least a month it should automatically delete. This would prevent the unnecessary steps of looking up sessions and deleting them before creating new ones for a new term.

Or there should be a way to duplicate the sessions from one term to the next and delete the original ones once this is done.

  16. Currently, only proctors monitoring active test sessions can see students' progress during the tests. It would be really helpful if school coordinators could directly access and view students' progress in all active sessions without having to rely on each proctor to provide updates or download testing progress files. This would greatly simplify test management and reduce the burden on proctors, especially when monitoring multiple students. Thanks!

  17. Since AI misuse has become prevalent, NWEA should develop "indicators" to flag test results for potential cheating behaviors. Districts could investigate to confirm or refute flagged scores.

  18. Presently, Science Growth plots stop at Grade 10. Yet, high school science education continues, and exit exams offered by many states and districts come at the end of Grade 11. Science Growth & Achievement data through at least Grade 11 would be extremely valuable, even if national sample sizes are relatively small -- they're large enough to generate means and confidence intervals.

  19. This is more focused feedback than a suggestion, and we hope it's not taken lightly.

The NWEA Secure Browser app on Windows is notoriously worse at handling any kind of network disturbance—interruptions, hiccups, temporary disconnections, you name it—than its ChromeOS counterpart.

We’ve spent countless hours “troubleshooting” issues with NWEA support between the Winter 2024–2025 and Spring 2024–2025 periods, but the word troubleshooting is doing some heavy lifting here. While every person who has assisted us by phone has been polite, professional, and willing to help, it’s clear that NWEA lacks the systems and tools necessary to effectively support large schools…

  20. When a nightly roster data import from Classlink fails to post, generate an email notification to the district administrators making them aware of the failure. I just happened to be in NWEA investigating an unrelated issue and noticed that our nightly sync from Classlink had a "cancelled" status each night for over a month due to a new program code being added by the student information system administrator. I had no idea that new students were not being added to NWEA for all that time. I am told that such notifications happen for Clever districts, but that it isn't set…
