  1. Our students did a writing workshop that taught them how to highlight different information using different colors. Example...Setting (yellow), time (blue), action (green), reaction (red), etc. On the STAR test, they do allow different colors for the highlighter. It would be nice if all things were aligned for the students sake.

  2. DC uses a content-specific MAP test for science (life, physical or Earth and space science) but there is no percentile rank information available for these tests. I can see that physical science content for 8th grade is all mastered by a 260 but a breakdown of what each score means would be very helpful for reporting this information to students and parents. Telling a student they scored 210 is not as powerful as telling them they are in the 50th percentile.

  3. When students complete testing, they are shown a screen that describes their subscores as "goal scores" and the range as "goal range"-- if this is shared with parents, they assume this means that the student's score should be in the "goal range" when it's just showing how consistently the student answered in the subtopic area.

  4. At this moment teachers can only pull up Lexile Ranges in their reports. It would be nice to be able to pull the exact Scores as well.

  6. The latest RIT Reference Chart Brochure is from 2019. An updated copy with the 2025 norms would be VERY helpful as it is a great visual for new teachers doing MAP testing for the first time along with parents. It gives a great example of where students are currently at.

  7. At present, both achievement and growth percentiles are reported for the most recent score, but only prior achievement percentiles appear when hovering over previous data points on the individual student performance graph for a subject. student growth percentiles should also pop up because relative growth at different times can be a crucial diagnostic.

  8. Removing our permissions to edit our own district has been disastrous. We've had to add a new school, and where we could have done so immediately in the past, we have now waited over a week, and the school still has not been updated. This is ridiculous.

  9. Ever since the recent update, the “Create Student” button in Active Session has disappeared for District Proctors.

    I get it — streamlining user roles is probably meant to improve clarity and control. But honestly, this was not a smart move. That button was essential for those last-minute situations when a student shows up for testing but isn’t rostered yet.

    Having to go through Manage Students or upload a full roster file just to create one student profile is not efficient, especially in high-pressure testing moments. The old setup let us create a student in seconds, right in Active Session. It…

  11. This is more focused feedback than a suggestion, and we hope it's not taken lightly.

    The NWEA Secure Browser app on Windows is notoriously worse at handling any kind of network disturbance—interruptions, hiccups, temporary disconnections, you name it—than its ChromeOS counterpart.

    We’ve spent countless hours “troubleshooting” issues with NWEA support between the Winter 2024–2025 and Spring 2024–2025 periods, but the word troubleshooting is doing some heavy lifting here.   13. I would love to have a report where I can see all students in a spreadsheet with all of their existing scores by term. I.E. For math student ben I would be able to see each of his scores for whaterver date range I pull. This would be very helpful for quality control and to quickly identify students who are not progressing.

  16. To help build student confidence the test starts out with 2-3 easy (on grade-level or below) field questions. These questions do not have to count towards the test score. I have given this assessment several times and on the first or second question, I have students crying defeated because the question is so hard.

  17. When a nightly roster data import from Classlink fails to post, generate an email notification to the district administrators making them aware of the failure. I just happened to be in NWEA investigating an unrelated issue and noticed that our nightly sync from Classlink had a "cancelled" status each night for over a month due to a new program code being added by the student information system administrator. I had no idea that new students were not being added to NWEA for all that time. I am told that such notifications happen for Clever districts, but that it isn't set…

  19. With the recent removal of the standard version of the MAP screening tests leaving only the accessible versions of the MAP screening tests, the pop-up warning that you have selected an accessible version of the screening tests that tells you to make sure you have chosen the correct version is misleading and causes proctors to question their choice when there is no longer any other version to select. Can that message be removed?

  20. Please design a video to send to parents along with the family report helping them understand how to interpret their child's report. It would be great if that link can be embedded into the report so that they can access it if reports are sent digitally.
