ISR language adjustment on Dyslexia Screener--confusing for parents
Our state now requires administration of the Dyslexia screener through Grade 3. It also requires reporting of scores to parents. When we print MAP RF's ISR, students at Grade 3 who are working at Levels 4 or 5 say "Below grade level" in red, even though they have capped out of the section. I understand it's because the student in Gr3 should have adapted out to Oral Reading, but we blocked them into Foundational Skills by assigning the Dyslexia screener. Ohio Connections Academy: We found that the playback feature worked, but not for every student. There were many instances that the microphone did not pick up the student's voice with enough clarity to accurately complete the hand scoring and often teachers were completing an additional 1:1 reading diagnostic to get a better understand of the student's reading levels.
The teachers loved the reporting aspect of the reading fluency and the breakdown of the foundation skills, however for most students, teachers were completing the reading fluency benchmark along with another 1:1 reading diagnostic to fully understand the student's reading level.

Reading Fluency Growth Chart
There is a chart in MAP Growth that shows each child's growth over the years of taking MAP assessments in Growth. (Think the chart you see on your retirement statements. Is the line going up, down, or staying steady.) It would be great to have the same feature in Reading Fluency so we can see each child's individual progress over the year.

On the part where the kids are listening for a sound and having to choose the letters or put letters in a box, it might be helpful if they have a mouth saying it so they can differentiate the sounds by using the mouth. This will help our speech kids.

Appropriate Font and Spacing for Grade Level
First grade NWEA Passages need to be more developmentally appropriate size and spacing. The passages 1st graders are looking at are the same size and spacing parameters as the ones that 3rd graders are reading. Can 1st grade assessments have larger font and wider spacing so students can track correctly?

On NWEA Growth, students are allowed to click each answer choice and then click the arrow when they're ready to move on. On MAP Reading Fluency, once they click an answer, it moves them on. This is a hard adjustment for young learners (k-1) especially since we teach them to click on every answer to hear the choices on growth.
