  1. It would be wonderful if not only teachers could view reports, but so could students. This way, they could go back and recheck growth.

  3. The new update to the rosters import file requirements necessitates that each row have a valid email address associated with it. In theory, this is a good idea. But in practice, it is causing more work for schools/districts who have classes that are not yet assigned to an instructor yet (for example, classes currently being covered by a long-term sub). Previously, we were able to upload the file with "Staff" listed in the instructor column. Now, I am forced to manually change 300+ rows of data to connect each student in these classes to the appropriate instructor account. The previous…

  4. We are teaching them that a number and a letter right next to each other means multiplication. For example, image.png, and they have to solve for X. But they way they are writing on MAP is
image.png image.png, meaning times X. It is very confusing to the kids because they already know it's multiplication and we no longer use the X for multiplication because it is a variable. Is there a place for administrators to make suggestions for improvements to the MAP/NWEA testing?? For our kids, it's ilke there is an extra "X" in the problem. (From MS Math teachers)

  5. Our students did a writing workshop that taught them how to highlight different information using different colors. Example...Setting (yellow), time (blue), action (green), reaction (red), etc. On the STAR test, they do allow different colors for the highlighter. It would be nice if all things were aligned for the students sake.

  6. DC uses a content-specific MAP test for science (life, physical or Earth and space science) but there is no percentile rank information available for these tests. I can see that physical science content for 8th grade is all mastered by a 260 but a breakdown of what each score means would be very helpful for reporting this information to students and parents. Telling a student they scored 210 is not as powerful as telling them they are in the 50th percentile.

  7. When students complete testing, they are shown a screen that describes their subscores as "goal scores" and the range as "goal range"-- if this is shared with parents, they assume this means that the student's score should be in the "goal range" when it's just showing how consistently the student answered in the subtopic area.

  8. At this moment teachers can only pull up Lexile Ranges in their reports. It would be nice to be able to pull the exact Scores as well.

  9. When completing a MAP assessment, early learners are often still developing foundational digital interaction skills, including the use of iPads, touch interfaces, or mouse-based navigation. Requiring multiple interaction modalities to answer questions can introduce unnecessary user-interface complexity and cognitive load.

From a usability and assessment-validity perspective, limiting response interactions to a single, consistent mechanic—such as drag-and-drop—would reduce confusion related to interface operation. For example, when a learner clicks on an answer and does not understand why it is not moving or responding as expected, the resulting difficulty reflects challenges with the interface design rather than the learner’s cognitive understanding of…

  10. When sharing family reports, we would love if the chart showing RIT scores over each test window also include the color bands that we can see in the Student Profile pages. These color bands are helpful for at-a-glance proficiency recognition, and also now play a part in our school's Direct Admissions program. Given that this is already available in the Student Profile page, I hope that it's not too big of an ask to have that integrated into the family report as well.

  12. As a special education case manager, it is very tedious to sort through individual teacher's classes to find my student's data. I would love the availability to create a "caseload" where I could claim students as mine to quickly track progress, better inform my small group groupings, improve reteaching instruction, produce reports, etc. Thank you for considering.

  13. Create a way for System Admin to search for the test session where a student is actively testing. Occasionally students may end up testing in two different rooms on the same day. If the first teacher fails to close their test session, students are unable to login to their second test. It would be helpful to be able to search by student to find out if they are active in a Test Session and that Test Session Name.

  14. Disaggregating data for independent schools so they can more accurately report data to their families. This data can then be used in the application process, replace the usage of ERBs, and become the de facto test for independent schools. The current limitations for reporting makes it very difficult.

  15. Bring back the old Family Report, please! The new Batch Family Report exports as a zip folder, where each individual student's file has to be opened in order to print. I have 300+ reports to print, and opening each student one at a time is not effective or efficient. The old report allowed users to run and print a whole class at a time with page breaks.

  16. Dear NWEA Team,

I would like to know how I can find out my Instructors Login Session details(Date\Time) into their MAP accounts.

Being the School MAP Administrator, using the dashboard I would like to see my teachers using their accounts to generate/view reports of their respective students\class.

Which I have checked with your Chat support, and they have acknowledge that this is a great idea, which doesn't exist in the current MAP system.

Hope to have this incorporated, in order to have administrator manage these tasks.

  18. Students who need TTS for all content should be able to use the embedded TTS feature within MAP - they should not have to learn to use a new tool like a screen reader just to access text in images and graphics. Screen readers will also read navigation buttons and other text on the screen that is not a part of the test item potentially creating confusion and adding cognitive load.

Please build images and graphics for test items that can be read aloud by the embedded TTS within MAP.

  19. The randomly generated session name included the word "edger" which is an inappropriate slang term. It caused some mayhem when I posted it as I had misread it as being "edgar" and didn't catch it in time. I recommend removing this word from the generation options to avoid this in the future.

  20. We have many classes with a primary teacher and a special education or english learner co-teacher. It would be great if both teachers could simultaneously monitor the same test session that the primary teacher has created without having to give one of the teachers district proctor access.
We currently roster so that both teachers have access to the class within NWEA but with current functionalities only one teacher can see active test sessions at a time without having to suspend a test and start it again in another teachers session.
