  1. On the benchmarks, please gray out the DONE button until a minute or so has passed. Students want to hit it and we end up redoing tests.

  2. Hello,
    I have been having problems with the Fluency program booting me out. So, I have to log in multiple times while they are taking the test. I then noticed that when this happened, my students had problems with their assessment. As long as I kept moving my mouse to keep the program on, my students would be able to take their assessment without issue.

  3. Can you export an .xls report with just the columns of data shown in the screener outcome report? ex: Universal Screener outcome (flagged/not flagged), and the Percentile score for each foundational skill-PA, Phonics/Word Rec, Lang Comp. This option would be really helpful!

  5. Ohio Connections Academy: We found that the playback feature worked, but not for every student. There were many instances that the microphone did not pick up the student's voice with enough clarity to accurately complete the hand scoring and often teachers were completing an additional 1:1 reading diagnostic to get a better understand of the student's reading levels.

    The teachers loved the reporting aspect of the reading fluency and the breakdown of the foundation skills, however for most students, teachers were completing the reading fluency benchmark along with another 1:1 reading diagnostic to fully understand the student's reading level.

  6. There should be some way that the password that was created works immediately. It is very frustrating to know what the student's password is, and it not work.

  10. First grade NWEA Passages need to be more developmentally appropriate size and spacing. The passages 1st graders are looking at are the same size and spacing parameters as the ones that 3rd graders are reading. Can 1st grade assessments have larger font and wider spacing so students can track correctly?

  11. To make it easier to see if students are skipping lines and are having tracking issues, could the teacher screen that shows the miscues be in the same format as the students screen?

  12. 1st graders are having difficulty tracking long passages on the computer. The Missouri State MAP testing allows students to use different tools when reading. One of the tools is a highlighter tape line. I would recommend this tool.

  14. If you are using the Reading fluency map on the ipad, make sure your students press "Allow" when the app asks to use the microphone. If they press deny, the proctor will need to go into settings, find the Reading Fluency app settings, and toggle the microphone switch to ON. I would add this to the knowledge base.

  15. Our teachers use iPads for administering assessments in classrooms. Currently, MAP Reading Fluency cannot be administered on iPads and reports cannot be accessed/viewed on iPads. This limits how and where we can administer assessments and share/talk about our data.

  18. Partners in the Southern Hemisphere are willing to use MAP Reading Fluency but are presented with the challenge of looking at students' data since their school year's start within our spring term. As an example, students begin the school year in March but are measured against end of year expectations versus beginning of year expectations.

  19. Some of my students are only approaching expectations yet their percentiles are high. For example, one student is only labeled as approaching expectations but scored 79th percentile for phonics. That would make sense for a benchmark but not for a percentile. You either need to make adjustments to your categories or explain in a video the reasoning. The only mathematical logic I can think of is if the entire nation's norms are just that skewed due to low literacy skills.

    These numbers and results are important for making decisions and talking about risk with parents.

  20. There needs to be an indication on the main page of grade level/classroom lists that a reading test needs to be reviewed so we do not have to click on each student to see which tests we need to listen to.
